Are you tired of those annoying scratches on your eyeglasses lenses? Fear not! In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to remove scratches from eyeglasses lenses right at home using simple household items. Say goodbye to those bothersome blemishes and enjoy crystal-clear vision once again.

Materials Needed:

Microfiber cloth

Toothpaste (non-gel)

Baking soda

Water

Cotton swabs

Soft cotton or lint-free cloth

Mild dish soap

Soft toothbrush

Olive oil or petroleum jelly

 Step 1: Clean the Lenses

Start by cleaning your eyeglasses thoroughly with a microfiber cloth to remove any dirt or debris. This ensures that you won’t inadvertently cause additional scratches during the repair process.

Step 2: Assess the Scratches

Examine the lenses to determine the severity of the scratches. If the scratches are deep or affect your vision significantly, it’s best to consult a professional. For minor scratches, proceed with the DIY method.

Step 3: Toothpaste and Baking Soda Mixture

Create a paste by mixing non-gel toothpaste with a small amount of baking soda. Use a 1:1 ratio and add a few drops of water to form a thick, consistent paste.

Step 4: Apply the Paste

Dab a small amount of the toothpaste and baking soda mixture onto the scratched areas of the lenses. Gently rub the paste onto the scratches using a cotton swab or your fingertip, using circular motions.

Step 5: Rinse and Inspect

Thoroughly rinse the lenses with lukewarm water to remove the paste. Dry them with a soft cotton or lint-free cloth and inspect the lenses. Repeat the process if necessary until the scratches are less noticeable.

Step 6: Mild Dish Soap

If the scratches persist, mix a small amount of mild dish soap with water oil and lotion-free. Gently rub the soapy mixture onto the lenses using a soft cloth, then rinse and dry.

Step 7: Olive Oil or Petroleum Jelly

For a final touch, add a small amount of olive oil or petroleum jelly to the lenses. This helps reduce the appearance of scratches and adds a protective layer.

Step 8: Clean and Polish

Give your eyeglasses a final clean with a microfiber cloth to ensure they are residue-free. Admire your handiwork and enjoy your scratch-free lenses!

With a few simple household items and patience, you can effectively remove minor scratches from your eyeglasses lenses at home. Remember, this method may not work for deep or extensive scratches, so if your vision is significantly affected, it’s advisable to seek professional help. Enjoy your clear vision and flaunt those scratch-free glasses!
